Analysis: The video for ‘Your Glass House’ re-enacts the story told in the song about a girl waking up in a strange house after what must have been a shit show of a night because she doesn’t even realize it’s her own home (twist-ending spoiler alert!). Atmosphere is made up of rapper Slug, and producer ANT, and they’re both greatly talented. But ‘Your Glass House’ is one of the weakest tracks on the otherwise-stellar When Life Gives You Lemons… from last year. The melodrama is at an all-time high, and I’m never a big fan of rap songs with these kinds of narrative stories that seem like they are supposed to teach some type of lesson to young women. Not what I want to listen to in a hip hop song, but I’m not a young woman so maybe its just me. All I know is if Atmosphere is trying to warn me against getting hammered and waking up with a hangover then I’m definitely not the audience for this song.
